| Thursday morning just as the sun is rising in the horizon,
the dark clouds filled the sky as the weather turned colder
with a slight wind. The conditions for the start of the
open shooting dog championship seemed great for potential
bird work. |
|
| The shooting dog Championship judges were
Colvin and Mazie Davis of Minter, Alabama. Both are well
qualified judges, field trialiers and have trained many
outstanding bird dogs. |
|
| Why Not John, handled by Jerry Lewis, points to indicate
a chukar. A bird was flushed and Jerry fired his blank gun
while the setter maintained its intensity. |
|
| Both Colvin and Mazie watch as Why Not John points.
The setter is barely seen just left of Colvin. |
